Where is it? Can anybody tell me where Virginia entertainers (as a whole) are located? This question is asked because almost every single time you here about a successful person in film,TV, sports,music, etc it’s someone who’s from somewhere else. Sure we have the Timberland’s, Missy Elliot’s, Trey songs, and Chris Browns of the world but we need more. In film we got Tim Reid and guys like Nate Parker but we need more. So my next question is how do we get more talent to represent our state? What programs need to be started up to give entertainers in a Va a fighting chance? People from this state shouldn’t always have to go to bigger cities like New York or La just to get denied. There should be opportunity in your hometown as well.
Don’t get me wrong I completely understand that entertainment shouldn’t be one of our top priorities but we still need representation in that field. All I hear on the streets is that “Va got a lot of talent” or “we can get someone like other cities if we work together” and yada yada yada. For some reason we can’t seem to get to the bottom of this. We can’t keep having like one artist come out every couple of years. Some type of serious platform should be created for these talented ladies and gentlemen.
