Time after time a battler must prove themselves to occupy the space of a champion. A new interesting match-up has developed recently between Gold and Superstar Sal. With both emcees being veterans in the battle rap world it’s kind of odd that they haven’t had to exchange words in the ring after so many years in the game. Gold seemed to have stumbled on a situation where Doe (owner of Nuthouse battle league) mentions to Superstar Sal that Gold wanted smoke even though the statement was a playful joke. Gold insisted he made no such statement but also lets it be known that he doesn’t mind going to war with Sal in the battle rap arena.
If this match is going to happen is unknown but Doe definitely reached out to Sal via Facebook shortly following the statement.
Both emcees have floated in the 5th to 6th position in rearguards to top 5 battle rapper in the Virginia Hampton roads area for some time now and more recently for Gold. Conversations about the top 5 in general are all really subjective to the individual being that battle rap is not technically judged. Superstar Sal has been a big name in Virginia for years even before many leagues even formed. If you asked for a top battle rapper years ago before battle rap was even accepted and considered “cool” Superstar Sal name would definitely be mentioned.
All of this brings us to the question in the title. “WHO OWNS THE RIGHTS?”
The rights to the top 5 spot! Gold stock as of June 2018 sits him right at the 5th or 6th position in ranking within battle rap in the Virginia Hampton Roads area. Superstar Sal has been labeled the 6th man for some time due to the competition of other emcees such as D Flamz, Squeako, Rolla, Ave, and Young X. With battle rap being a preference thing it is possible for anyone to make their own top 5 list based on what they like.
Lately, they been counting Superstar Sal out from the rankings so he may come back to show the world why he is who he is. A veteran who treats the ring like his living room with his experience and comfort will have to go up against the non stop bar heavy Gold to see who owns the rights to that spot.
