After a very active past 12 months Squeako’s actions has answered any questions on if he holds a place in the top 5 battle rappers from the 757. In 2017 he had a very slow year and less active compared to his peers who share the slots of the top 5 conversation in Virginia.
In mid 2018 Squeako revealed he had finally got the call to step on the URL stage. On many occasions he often talked about his competition in the 757 area and how he didn’t see any battle rappers that had him interested in battling after taking on VA’s top competition such as Ave, and Young X. This may have been the cause for his lack of appearances on stage and also his battle with young kannon never being put out made his presence seem very lacking as well for the 2017 year.
Fast forward to March 2019 and he has multiple appearances on the URL stage and continues to move forward. They just recently released a battle also with him versus Moon. (link below)
A major question comes into play when talking top 5. The question is “How is he top 5?”
The top 5 category has many factors to consider and here are a few listed
Wins vs other top 5 rappers
status as a rapper (tier wise)
Resume (Who and how respected was the competition)
wins vs losses (battle rap not judged but by popular vote)
Experience( Did you put in enough time to be considered)
Making it to the URL STAGE( They are the most respected professional platform and considered the NBA of battle rap)
Having analyzed these different aspects we can put Squeako in the top 5 category once again since his most memorable years in 2012 and 2013. We still wanna see him battle Gold in the future but maybe that situation has diminished due to Squeako’s fast paced rise through the URL battle circuit. Squeako has proved that he is once again a solidified top 5 and his work speaks for itself. Stay tuned for more information involving Squeako and a upcoming exclusive interview with golden key on his career in battle rap.
