THE RETURN OF THE HEAD HUNTERS RAP BATTLE LEAGUE!!?? 2019

If you have been apart of the battle rap community in the Hampton roads area of Virginia then you know about Head Hunters. Malc, the creator of Headhunters, seems to be looking to reboot the brand and possibly launch a new event. In a recent social media post he asked his followers and friend to tag a battle rapper or a rapper who can battle rap. This is not a definite answer to him starting the head hunters brand back up but, what interest would he have inquiring about battle rap talent if not for an event? We have spoken to Malc on different occasions and it’s always the conversation of possibly starting head hunters back up but no concrete time frame has been stated.

Malc is definitely credited with organizing and establishing one the first rap battle leagues in Virginia and also among the first 8 on YouTube. He laid the foundation for many leagues to come after and brought us some of the most known battle emcees to the world. So many rappers gained exposure through the head hunters platform including Logic, Breeze, Breez, Rolla, King, Nico, Squeako, Musa, Hard Kandi (Brisco and Cashflow Rizzy) Bigg k, Tv, Gold, D Flamz, K-Kash, OG Prime and a few others.

Can Head Hunters exist among the two other leagues such as 7 cities sharks and Nuthouse? How will this effect the talent pool within the leagues being that many emcees started on the headhunters platform and now call another league their home? Does Malc still have a relationship with most battle rappers after years of being out of the game? Many questions come into play when looking at how big the Head Hunters brand was and how they can maneuver back into a similar or better space. Stay tuned for future details surrounding this topic.
